Before you sign up

What does ThreadNotes cost?
Nothing while we are in beta. Everyone who joins now gets full access to workspaces, real-time collaboration and the graph at no cost. When we do introduce paid plans, early members will hear about it from us well in advance.
Which devices does it run on?
ThreadNotes runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet and phone, and syncs in real time between them. Start a note on a laptop, finish it on a phone — it is the same note.
Can I keep some notes private inside a shared workspace?
Yes. Permissions are set per note, not per workspace. Choose Private, owner & author, all members, or hand-pick exactly who can see and edit it.
Do I have to learn a linking syntax?
Only one thing: type [[ and the note title. That's the whole system. The link works in both directions and shows up in the graph automatically.
How is this different from Dungeon Ledger?
Dungeon Ledger is our tabletop-gaming sibling — same shared-notes idea, but shaped around campaigns, DM secrets and elimination counters. ThreadNotes is the general-purpose version for teams, study groups and anyone else.
What happens to my notes if I leave?
They are yours. Notes are stored as plain text with Markdown formatting, so nothing is locked in a proprietary format. See our privacy policy for how we handle your data.
